PlayersUnknown’s BattleGrounds, or PUBG as it more commonly
known, is the largest online battle royale game with over 2 million players on
the PC version. On March 19 of this year, PUBG was made available for Android
and iOS users worldwide. Fans of the game were initially skeptic about all the
PC features being available on the mobile version when Bluehole Games announced
it. But to everyone’s delight, almost all the features from jumping through
windows, firing from moving vehicles, stealth to online player connectivity and
the surreal graphics worked just as brilliantly on the phone. Bluehole made
this possible by collaborating with the Chinese company Tencent games and now
the duo have inspired a whole generation of online
Battle Royale games for phones.
Soon enough, PUBG mobile went on to have over 50
million downloads on the Google play store and occupied the top spot on the
Free Games section of the Apple AppStore. In fact, the mobile Battle Royale
game has been so successful that in May, it clocked in 10 million users daily.
Bluehole has an exemplary track record when it comes to
keeping its player base happy with regular updates for the PC version, followed
by the same update for PUBG Mobile. The latest update is the PUBG Mobile 0.6.0
version, which introduces the FPP(First Person Perspective). It works very
smoothly on the phone and seals the deal for the fans, thanks to the fluid game
play and the amazing details of the weapons.
Most users want that elusive chicken dinner promised to the
winner. So we have some tricks and tips that will help you graduate from being
a noob to a pro. These are the tricks that the game doesn’t teach you, but
leaves it for you to discover. But we know you love chicken, so here’s 10
things you can do to win it:
10 tricks and tips for PUBG Mobile 0.6.0
1. Make sure you get the graphics right for your device
PUBG mobile has many variations in the graphics settings and
the frame rate. These can be chosen as per the best compatibility of your
device. This trick may seem basic, but knowing it is important the right
setting will give you the best experience your phone can offer. A drop in frame
rate can make your experience choppy and in return affect your aiming accuracy
in the game. So, it is best advised to keep the game setting on balance and let
the device decide what is the best set for it.
2. Choose the right server depending on its latency
PUBG mobile has various servers that a player can choose
from, like North America, South America, Asia, Europe and KRJP. You can check
the latency of these servers on the top lefthand corner of your screen. Pick
one that offers minimum latency, as it will make the gameplay smoother. A
higher latency leads to a disrupted experience of the game.
3. Choose the right spot for landing
For pros, Pochinki and Rozhok are a few hotspots to land on,
at the beginning of the game. But if you are new to the game and want to
survive at least till the last 10 players are remaining, then you need to lay
low throughout the game while staying inside the shrinking safe zone. You could
land in places like Mansion, Shooting Range, Quarry and Severny as they aren’t
frequented much. These places may not give you the top-notch supplies you wish
for but will give you enough security to survive until the final 10.
4. Use the eye
On the top righthand corner of your screen, you’ll see an
icon that looks like an eye. This feature gives you a 360 degree view without
having to move your character in that direction. This comes in handy when
you’re hiding in the open or to keep a look out for people who may be around
you while you sprint.
5. Don’t wear shoes
Even though most players opt for fancy upgrades in the
footwear department, it is not advisable to wear any shoes. One major benefit
of this is that your enemies will not be able to hear you approaching if you’re
bare feet, giving you a chance to sneak up on them and unleash your
attack.
6. Let your teammate know where the enemy is
Earlier, whenever your teammates shouted out on the chat
saying,” He’s here, he’s here!” you always wondered where the hell the enemy
was because you didn’t know their exact location. It’s better to give your
teammates a clearer idea of where the enemy is shooting from, like mentioning
some sort of landmark or at least giving them a proper direction. But with the
0.6.0 update, players can now point their aim marker at the enemy and choose
the ‘Enemy Spotted’ command from the menu. This puts a caution marker on the
place you’re aiming at, and your teammates see it on their screen as well.
7. Have consumables to run faster
PUBG gives you an option of chewing down on painkillers or
having energy drinks to revive the damage done. Not a lot of players are aware
of this feature, which lets you fill up your energy bar. When the bar is full,
your character will sprint faster and is especially helpful when you’re
escaping a shrinking zone or running through an open patch of land surrounded
by enemy fire.
8. Disable auto pick up and choose what you need
PUBG mobile has one feature that the PC version doesn’t.
We’re talking about the auto pick up feature. This one was added to the mobile
game to make game play more fluid. It basically lets a new player pick up
almost everything that comes in the way. It proves to be a disadvantage when
your character picks up stuff it thinks is important without assessing the
situation in hand. For example, you might be in the middle of a close range gun
battle and accidentally walk over a few bandages lying around. In the auto pick
up settings, your character will stop shooting to pick those supplies first and
that might get you knocked out. The good news is that you can fix that by
changing the settings and disabling the auto pick up feature.
9. Change seats in vehicles to fire
Just like the PC version, PUBG mobile lets you drive to the
safety of the zone. But, what a lot of people don’t know is that you can change
seats while driving a vehicle. Changing seats gives you an option to fire back
at your enemy. During the time that you’re shooting, the car will keep moving
in the direction you aimed it at before changing seats and will eventually come
to a stop. This trick will make sure you’re not a target for enemies when
you’re driving the car alone.
10. Lay low and be an opportunist
The most important skill in the game is to be stealthy and
lay low. Wearing darker clothes and running in the shadows of structures can
help cover you from the enemy. You can even launch a surprise attack on an
enemy if you’re not visible to them prior. This comes especially handy when
there are less than 10 people remaining and all are playing inside a smaller
area. Keep a low profile till the last few players are remaining. Your chances
of killing a player or two are higher at the end than trying to kill 4 or more
people at once earlier.
Bonus in-game feature
The latest PUBG 0.6.0 update for mobile gives your character
the ability to perform gestures like blowing a kiss and waving among other
things. These features can only be used once they’re unlocked. If you already
have, then you can use them in the game by finding an icon that looks like a
man on the top righthand corner of your screen, right next to the map.
At the end of it, it’s most important to remember that even
though the thrill of getting kills keeps you hooked, PUBG is a survival game.
And nothing but being the last one alive gives you the chicken dinner. So unless
you’re not a pro, don’t chase kills. Follow these tricks that will help pave
your way to victory.
